An Update On Lucky Ferals Season 4

Lucky Ferals Season 4

Lucky Ferals Season 4

Lucky Ferals Season 4 started a short while ago. As I type this, it is currently up to Episode 4. I’ve decided to change things up a little bit this season and thought I would post this update about what those changes will be.

Boo Day Videos and Boo Year 2

The first year of the Lucky Ferals’ YouTube Channel consisted of a random schedule of videos of Stella and her two kittens, Splash and Simba, and sometimes Boo. The following year, when Boo showed up at my back door all scraped up, was when the daily vlog videos started. I wanted to fully document Boo’s journey from a feral cat to a house cat so each video was marked by the day. Boo Day 1, Boo Day 2, Boo Day 3, etc. and they were posted on a daily basis, usually at night. There were 365 days of Boo Day videos.

After a year of daily videos, the choice was to continue with Boo Day 366, Boo Day 367 etc or change the name to Boo Year 2. I went with Boo Year 2 because then each episode could consist of one or more days and I would not have to post on a daily basis. There were 228 vlog videos that year as well as other topical videos.

Lucky Ferals Season 3

The third year, the name was changed to Lucky Ferals Season 3 since the focus was not primarily on Boo anymore but on all of the cats as a family. Vlog episodes continued to feature multiple days. Topical videos were posted separately and not included as Season 3 episodes. Flashback Friday videos were posted on some Fridays. Season 3 had 138 episodes and there was a video posted nearly every day that was either a vlog episode, a topical video, or a flashback video.

What To Expect For Season 4

Now that Season 4 is here, I will be testing out a new production and publishing schedule. In order to have a better idea of how many videos are posted throughout the season, topical videos will also be posted as Episodes. Vlog videos will consist of one or more days of general life with the cats and when there is enough footage of a single subject, that subject will be posted as a topical video. For example, “Do Cats Like Combs?” that’s a topical video but is also Episode 3. Flashback videos and Live Streams will not be numbered as episodes.

What these changes should mean is that there will be more episodes posted but many will be shorter than the 15 – 20 minute vlogs of Season 3. Some people like really long videos and other people like shorter videos. In order to provide a little of both, I am hoping to post more compilation videos that combine several of the shorter videos in one longer video for people who may have missed the shorter videos in their subscription feed or because they didn’t get notifications, or who prefer the longer format.
