Trapping An Injured Feral Cat
Season 4 Episode 144 of the Lucky Ferals cat family vlog includes trapping an injured feral cat, taking a feral cat to the vet, and more including:
Day 1387 – Hydrox was hanging out by the back door. I decided to put some Pet Remedy Spray in the pet carrier and in the trap. I put some canned tuna in the trap and set it up with a towel on top of it and a training pad inside of it. Ditto showed up. He was limping. He walked into the trap. I dropped him off at an animal hospital. I bought a pet crate. Boo was stressed out about what was going on. I cleaned out Booβs room to turn it into a recovery room for Ditto. I set the pet crate up under a desk. The animal hospital donated a carrier and some towels for Ditto. I put Ditto on the patio so he and Hydrox could see each other. I put Ditto in the recovery room. I let Ditto relax in the carrier before letting him out and into the crate. Ditto relaxed comfortably in the crate while Splash stood guard by the door.
Tomahawk Original Series Rigid Trap with Easy Release Door
The trap that I used to get Ditto to the vet is a Tomahawk Original Series Rigid Trap with an easy release door. I chose this one because it has a door on each end and is large enough for a cat to be comfortable inside of it for as long as it needs to be in it. It is also very strong, heavy duty, and the tripping mechanism can be adjusted. It worked really well and I was happy with it.
